Irritation

How do you keep people who you know mean well for the most part from irritating you with their opinions or behavior? Especially when that irritation spills over into other parts of your life. It's difficult to tell some people to bug off and keep their noses out of your business, but I shouldn't let them get to me either. I know it's a normal part of marriage, but I'm tired of Andy and I taking out our irritation at other people on each other. I also don't like being grumpy for a week afterwards because I feel people are questioning something I put my all into. Maybe I should say something, but I'm afraid that would upset more than me.

Mother's Day

After David's graduation we headed over Birmingham to Andy's parents for Mother's Day and to celebrate his Aunt's wedding. We got to see both sides of the family on Sunday and enjoy spending time and catching up with everyone. Uncle Mike loves to take pictures at our dinners and these are just a few of the ones he took of the boys.
We were watching everyone playing frisbee

Hayden adores the boys and Stephen loved being tossed around.

David's Graduation

We started our vacation last week by going over to Georgia for David's graduation. He graduated UGA Summa Cum Laude with highest honors being that in his time there he was only one B from a 4.0 GPA. Next fall he starts Dental School at the Medical College of Georgia down in Augusta. He was commissioned into the Army Reserves this Spring and after he graduates dental school he will be commissioned into the regular army as a Captain I believe.

While we were at my family's Andy, John, James and Becky got to go to a Braves game and Nana and Pop pop watched the boys while Andy and I went out to eat for our anniversay. It was a nice relaxing time there.

It took an hour to seat the graduates and I don't think all 6,000 grads walked :)

David walking through the Arch for the first time.
It's tradition to walk around the arch until you graduate for good luck.

John...

John finished his first year of college this year and did really well. He and I are a lot alike and react to stress the same way. It was nice to have him call me and ask for advice and just to talk about school. He has participated in the Air Force ROTC at UGA the whole year and has decided that he is called to be an Air Force chaplain. Most people when they hear this are quite surprised and really don't know what to say, the girl in the picture below is the only one who has really expressed interest and opinions in his chosen profession.

Last year Dad and I were talking about what kind of girls my brothers were probably going to be looking for and we decided that David would find a girl like Mom and John would find a girl like me... I believe John has found his girl and the way he talks about her I will not be surprised to be attending their wedding in 3 or so years. lol Her name is Beth, she is fairly tall and has dark, curly hair. :) I love my brother so much and wish the absolute best for him. Below is a picture of John and Beth at his formal Air Force banquet.
