I'm really enjoying smocking and sewing the boys Easter outfits and thought I'd post my designs to show everyone. :) I love the old fashioned Southern boy clothes and am so happy that our church is formal enough for me to make them for Caleb and Stephen to wear. Surprisingly Andy loves them too and is happy for me to make them clothes. Part of it is that he likes Caleb looking more his age I'm sure, but I'll take it anyway I can get it. I'm really careful to not pick out things that are too "girly" too. :)
This first plate is the one I'm making to put in Caleb's shirt.
This is Stephen's. I have a thing for bears on my little boys. lol
This is the little suit I'm making. The shirt will be cream with the plates from above inserted and I have really cute cream and red striped seersucker material for the shorts. I'm looking for more seersucker to make some little shortalls for them especially since you can't find them for Caleb's size.

Love, love, love it!!! I have always wanted my boys in these too, but always seem to be to busy to get it done. You have inspired me:) Where did you get the patterns and do you have your own pleater?
I do have my own pleater. A darling older lady in my area saw some outfits I made last summer and gave me her pleater so I didn't have to buy the inserts. :) We have an heirloom sewing store near me where I get my patterns and plates but if you google heirloom sewing or ginger snaps patterns you will get a lot of things that you can buy online and a lot of them don't charge shipping. The smocking plates are little memories and angel wears... google them and all of their plates come up for you to pick from :)
you're amazing, Beth :)
